Texas-born, Los Angeles-based designer Steven K. Lancaster is a multidisciplinary designer and artist with over a decade of experience in illustration, rendering and visualization; as well as, over a decade of hands on experience designing luxury home goods, high-end residential projects, retail environments, and commercial interiors.
Steven received his Bachelors Degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute.
Steven began his design career with furniture houses ducduc and The New Traditionalists, in New York City, where he helped the companies further their brand identities and built upon their existing furniture collections.
After moving to Los Angeles, Steven dove further into the world of interiors taking roles designing creative office spaces for start-up tech companies at West Haddon Hall, as well as a stint working with True Religion Jeans designing retail environments. Steven's love for interior and furniture design was matched when he met the dynamic duo behind Nickey Kehoe, where he worked on celebrity homes and designed furniture and accessories for the brand.
Steven's rendering career had always been a moonlighting passion project, creating visuals for designers and artists all over the US.
Steven made the leap into his artistic career full time, after accepting a Studio Artist position with American design icon Michael S. Smith. While working with Michael's design studio, Steven honed his style and craft in illustration and rendering techniques; Steven also designed for Michael's furniture company, Jasper.
Drawing inspiration from the romanticism of traditional hand rendering, Steven brings classic watercolor techniques to a digital medium to create presentation drawings with flexibility for revision, while still maintaining warmth and atmosphere. Steven's renderings have been published in House Beautiful Magazine and Elle Decor Magazine.
